Those loop-de-loop levels still hold up, and the sprite work on the Master System looks sharper than I remembered. Getting to speed through them as Sonic with Tails tagging along makes the whole thing feel like a proper sequel.
Tails actually follows Sonic around and can fly him over gaps now, which makes the co-op feel like a real addition instead of a gimmick. The loop-de-loop stages still hold up, and the Master System version runs smooth the whole way through.
Popped this into my Master System and the loop-de-loop speed is exactly how I remember it. Playing as Tails alongside Sonic is a nice touch, and the cartridge booted right up with no fuss.
