Detaching the two halves and sliding them onto the console for handheld play feels way more solid than I expected. The neon blue and red look great in person, and having a proper grip for each hand makes longer sessions easier.
Handed my friend the right Joy-Con and we played a round of Mario Kart with each of us using one — the motion controls felt smooth and the buttons have a nice firm click. Splitting the two controllers between players is honestly the best part of this setup.
Snapped these onto the console and the click is so satisfying, no wobble at all. Playing Mario Kart with a friend, each of us using one half sideways, worked flawlessly right out of the box.
